We believe no people are disposable and that memory is an act of resistance.
The peoples of Latin America share history, language, faith, family, and a long struggle against exclusion. Grito de Aztlán denounces the systems that try to erase that identity, in schools, in courts, in culture, and calls for a rebirth of Latino dignity.
We seek a peaceful cultural awakening that teaches our communities to know who they are, where they come from, and why their lives matter.

The name
Why Aztlán?
Aztlán is a territorial claim and a symbol of resistance. The Mexica origin story placed its beginnings in Aztlán, associated with the southwest of what is now the United States. To remember it is to reject erasure, to say that the Latino presence in this land is neither new nor foreign, but deep and older than modern borders.
